Hey, I’m

Amanda

Just an average millennial who misses the olden days of the internet- The early 2000’s blogs with their vulnerability and utter lack of short form content. It was real. It was raw. People wrote blogs for the passion and art of getting out their inner most thoughts; even if that meant their audience was miniscule. We had a lot to say and didn’t care if anyone was listening or paying us for the content.

Why? It was therapeutic. It was art.

I have no idea where my old blogs are now. The old blogger and tumblr I used to spend countless hours pouring my soul into are probably hanging out in the depths of the internet with my old MySpace. Passwords forgotten. Frozen in time.

So, here I am now- in my mid-thirties and fed up with the soulless/ artless confines of today’s internet- starting over again with a blog. Holding on to whatever nostalgia I can with a keyboard and an empty corner of the internet.

This is a blog about nothing, yet everything. I just want to write, even if it’s to an empty room. Remembering the simpler times and longing to relinquish that feeling again by slowing down and living with intention.

Enough of my dramatic nostalgic longing…

Who am I really though?

I’m a Mississippi native living on the Emerald Coast in Florida. A vintage lover and design enthusiast who spends most days deep within a granny hobby while caring for my son Mayne.

Summers with my wonderful Southern grandmother helped me develop a love for cooking, gardening, and vintage design. Bobbie Jean’s significance in my life has greatly shaped the woman I am today and the stories I share on this blog. ♥︎
